The QUINTEST is a simple to use Structured Cabling Tester featuring a continually sequencing green / red LED display on both main and remote units.  The product caters for the most frequently used functions needed by Network Installation Engineers, and can test UTP and STP patch cables as well as installed wiring.  Wire map and Cable faults, including Short Circuit Pairs, open Circuit Pairs, Shorts between Pairs, pair reversals, Transposed Pairs and other Cable Miswires are indicated.
Additional LED indicators show screen continuity, when testing STP cables and provide warning of a low battery condition.  Networking Cables supply the UK's widest range of both UTP & FTP patch leads in many different constructions, materials and lengths from an array of industry leading manufacturers and distributors to match your exact cabling system or application standards.
When not is use, the two halves of the Quintest 'snap' together by means of a magnetic clasp, providing protection against damage and automatically powering down.  Housed in tough ABS plastic moulding, the Quintest is designed and manufactured to international standards for quality, safety and reliability.
Quintest is powered by a 9 volt zinc chloride battery located in the main unit.  It features a low battery indicator that alerts the user to the battery condition, thus avoiding erroneous results.  To prevent battery drain an automatic battery switch disconnects the battery when the units are in their closed/storage position.  Two screen RJ45 sockets are provided, one for TIA568A and B configured systems, and the other for USOC.
To test an installed system connect a short patch lead in to the Quintest and plug the other end in to the socket of the port number to test.  Similarly when testing patch leads it is recommended that a RJ45 plug to socket adapter be fitted to the Quintest sockets.  This will have the benefit of extending the life of the Quintest sockets.  Almost any power, data, voice or fibre cable can be made to order - please call 01442 890890 or email [email protected] for pricing and full specification.
